This is the Webster Baptist Church, located along North Carolina Highway 116 and the Tuckaseigee River in the town of Webster, North Carolina. Constructed in 1900, the Late Vernacular Victorian-style Church terminates the view coming across the bridge from the rest of town, and features an unaltered interior floor plan and Queen Anne-style details and windows that ornament and decorate the wood-frame structure. The church was built around the time the town began its decline, which has preserved many Victorian-era structures that once had similar examples in nearby towns, which have been lost to time and redevelopment. The church, which received additions and renovations in 1953 and 1998, is similar to many that once stood in other areas of the county, but have since been replaced with newer, larger, more modern structures. Today, the Webster Baptist Church continues to grace one of the most prominent sites in town, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
