As of October 2006, she had cleared up the rumor by stating that she wanted to find other people to play the role, so that the character could appear at the multitude of personal appearance requests. As Peterson stated in an interview, there were many Bozos (the clown) making personal appearances, even though Larry Harmon himself had died since, so she saw no reason there could not be more Elviras.[۲]
