- ^ The precise date of establishment is a matter of debate. Some official sources state that Snezhnoye was founded in 1928. However, Gray (2004) gives the establishment date of 1929, whilst M. Strogoff et al. (2006) is more vague, stating only that it was founded in the 1920s. Gray (1997a) and the official website of Anadyrsky District further add to the confusion by simply stating the establishment was in the late 1920s.
